Water Quality |
Valencia Heights Water
Company (VHWC) is a Mutual Water Company established in 1912 as a non-profit
organization. A Mutual Water
Company only provides water service to customers who are stockholders.
VHWC is governed by a seven (7) member Board of Directors and a
General Manager serves at the pleasure of the Board to manage and make the
day-to-day decisions to obtain the goals of the Company to provide safe,
clean, and reliable water to the community at the best possible value.
VHWC provides this
water service to portions of the unincorporated area of Covina, portions of
the City of Covina and
West Covina. .
VHWC's service area is generally described as the eastern portion of
the City of West Covina on the west to Kellogg Hill on the east, and from
San Bernardino (10 Freeway) on the north, to the Walnut city limits on the
south. VHWC also provides water
service to Paradise View Estates in Malibu, CA.
To receive water
service, all property owners are required to own a minimum of one (1) share
of VHWC water stock. The number
of shares required is dependent on the square footage of the lot, and a lot
greater than 28,500 square feet requires two (2) shares of stock.
Water stock is appurtenant to the property and must be transferred
from the seller to the buyer when a property is sold.
VHWC
invites its shareholders to attend the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.
Shareholders are notified via a booklet that informs shareholders of
the meeting date, time, and location.
In February, VHWC holds its Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.
